ABOUT

Playing some non-Barça calibre football!

I was born into a family of F.C. Barcelona supporters.  The love I had for this team was in my blood before I was born – supporting Barça wasn’t a choice I really made on my own.

As a young child, I dreamed of a career as a star footballer, of one day donning the famed “blaugrana” jersey in front of a euphoric crowd. But as I grew older, it quickly dawned upon me that I wasn’t good enough to make it pro — not even close — and so, I turned to my other passions: writing and design.  Thankfully, I wasn't too bad at those.

Upon finishing my first stint at university (English/Spanish), I spent some time travelling and then working a wide variety of jobs: from delivering fridges and furniture by day to writing stories and reviews by night.

I then went on to study journalism at the University of Western Ontario and spent a number of years working for a number of newspapers across Canada. I got my start as a photojournalist at the Woolwich Observer in Elmira, ON., where I covered a wide variety of issues: from city council to junior hockey.

From weekends at cold arenas in Elmira and Wellesley, I moved on to the Olympic News Service, where I worked as a flash quote reporter covering men's ice hockey at the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics. Witnessing this historic Canadian sporting moment, and then talking to the players after — including a glowing Sidney Crosby and Jarome Iginla — was a definite highlight.

Following this, I worked as a freelance writer and editor, and as a web editor at the Vancouver Sun (2011-2013), where I worked with reporters and photographers to ensure the web site reflected the dynamic nature of the ever-changing and never-ending local and international news cycles.

My seemingly endless pursuit of education continued, as I went on to teach English in downtown Vancouver, where I currently work, and to study graphic design at BCIT.

As a graphic designer with a profound interest and professional background in writing and language, I know what looks good and what sounds great.  It is my aim to offer my clients bold and striking visual products combined with clear and eloquent copy.

And as for those old Barça plans? I'm happy watching the games with my wife and daughters!
